April 18, 2008 - Corvallis Tool Company (CTC) has received the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) Certification. SHARP Certification is awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Division of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and recognizes companies with outstanding workplace health and safety management. To receive SHARP Certification participants must meet SHARP requirements, such as lowering the lost-workday injury and illness rate, lowering the total recordable case rate below the national average, and implementing a health and safety management system that addresses OSHA's 1989 Safety and Health Program Management Guidelines.
March 1, 2008 - Phil Tedder has joined Corvallis Tool Company (CTC) as General Manager and Chief of Operations. Phil has a PhD in Mathematical Economics and has taught Forest Management and Economics at both the University of Arkansas and Oregon State University. He comes to us after recently serving as CEO for Centralia Sawmill Company. Prior to that, Phil was President and COO at Pacific Lumber & Shipping and Senior VP/GM at Seneca Sawmill.
Feb 28, 2008 – CTC has broken ground on an expansion to add 5,000 sq ft to their manufacturing capability. The new bay will include two 10-ton capacity overhead cranes. Construction is slated to begin in March and be complete in April.
Feb 25, 2008 - Corvallis Tool Company (CTC) has received an order to supply approximately 400ft of conveyors and support structure for the White Waste system at Modern Lumber Technologies (MLT Ltd) facility in Torzhok, Russia.
Feb 1, 2008 - Corvallis Tool Company (CTC) has received
an order from Georgia Pacific to supply a 5-bin hybrid dry stacker to its
plant in Emporia, VA.
The material specifications for this stacker include two lengths (4ft & 8ft),
multiple thicknesses, a variety of widths, and high piece counts. CTC’s hybrid
stacker uses a combination of plenum design, VFD fan control, and multiple knock-offs
to address all of these variables. Start-up is scheduled for September.
Jan 28, 2008 – Corvallis Tool Company (CTC) has received orders from Georgia Pacific to supply conveyors and support steel for upgrades to the Log Processing line at their Coos Bay, OR facility.
Nov 9, 2007 - Corvallis Tool Company (CTC) has received an order from Weyerhaeuser to supply machinery and controls for the expansion to their Los Piques facility in Uruguay. The order includes a 5-bin green veneer stacker; two dry veneer sheet inserters and three 10-bin dry veneer stackers. Start-up is slated for July 2008.
